If you look at it from one perspective, EA have put a lot of work into their games in making loads of animations for batting (many shots and about 4 ways to duck, and 5 ways to get hit by the ball), several deliveries, and many fielding animations.

It is a shame all three are poorly done.

I wont take their word for it. If they fullfilled all they promised cricket 2005 would have been an out of the world experience.

Have actually listened to what the major problems were in the last release and fixed them

Will actually offer support post-release if there are any issues with the game

I understand that EA are a bigger company than Codemasters and that cricket isn't a topline for them but the sooner people start realising the EA are doing a shoddy job and not buying their game for the sake of it the better. I've got no intention of buying C07 and frankly the more people who refuse to the quicker EA might realise that what they are doing is nowhere near good enough.
My problem is that BLIC is extremely arcadey, and there are some ridiculously unrealistic shots. I know EA isn't a lot better, but the game certainly seems it. Customer relations i understand, you're absolutely right, but as for the game, I feel that EA are better.

My main issue in the post was not codemasters, but the way that the EA bloke answered the questions. It seems that they've avoided any of the key issues in the game.

Totally agree...I will try and get a shot comparison of the shots in Cricket 2005 and BLIC...just so it is obvious.

Simply business, it would not sound good if they kept saying "No".

People give EA such a hard time for putting out fairly average games every 1-2 years but atleast they continued to make games unlike Codemasters who had 6 years inbetwen games and 2005 was still average and a huge let down.

If people give EA a hard time they should also definately give Codemasters a hard time.

Anyway, I am looking forward to cricket 2007 and i will be buying it.

You're missing the point a bit surely. Codemasters weren't working on BLIC 05 for 6 years, if they had, perhaps they would have made the best game ever. They recognized a market they hadn't tried for some time, and looked to make a new game, perhaps over 2 years. For a first effort in a long time, well done to them, but if they really want to hold the market, they need to do something this time, namely making it feel more real. Otherwise, we'll be doomed to a worryingly poor update of the subsequent version of EA Cricket, every time they make a new one.

No I know Codemasters weren't working on the game for 6 years.
What I meant was Codemasters didn't even put a game out for six years but atleast EA put out several games and if they didn't we wouldn't of had any games to b!tch about.

There is always the possibility of patches being released to deal with any PC specific issues that end up being shipped. The focus that we’ve had on getting the game really clean should alleviate the need for this. There will not, however, be any patches to update rosters.
Does this means there will not be any option for rosters?

I assume he means an official patch. All the EA sports games are updatable through out-of-game editing.

Does anyone have any idea of how many people work on the actual game, I really have no idea and am curious.

This is EA Sports and HB Studios we're talking about. If we get a demo it will just suddenly arrive without any warning.

You know it's silly just a bit better with their HR and they could have such a better fanbase and be more respected. It wouldn't be that difficult either, perhaps they forget who pays for their jobs anyway?

Currently EA are top as far as physics goes...with shots going in more than 8 places due to differences in timing.

They struck a golden idea with different shots against spinners than pacers...but it was poor in Cricket 2005. That is all EA games will be, potential. That pull shot needed reanimation, but it did not get it.

This seems like a patched Cricket 2005 as far as shots go.

Can an expert please tell me the technical difference between EA and Brian Lara graphics. It seems they are completely different yet similar in terms of realism, Brian Lara Cricket seems brighter in a way.

Good points manee. Seems like EA have great ideas but they have trouble implementing them in to the games. Hopefully this time it will be different.
