Cricsim Ashes

The PCCL administration are excited to announce that in a special, one off series, we will be simulating the highly anticipated Ashes series between England and Australia, only with PC members.

This will be a trial to see how an international series could work, and we will be running the 5 tests concurrently with the real tests. We will wait to see how each team is affected before deciding whether or not to disqualify players in the Ashes series from regular matches, but we won't be halting the regular season simply because it's unfair to those who aren't playing.

Unfortunately, this does mean that only Australian and English (+Welsh ) members will be participating, and we apologise to all those who may be left out by this. If the series is successful, we will try to do more, and include our other members.

The managers for the two teams will be:
Australia: aus5892 (me)
England: Simbazz and treva

In here you can express your interest in participating, to give us a good indication of which members are active enough to warrant a spot in the team. Teams will be selected based on activity in the regular PCCL season and also to create a good team balance.

I was actually thinking about something like this a while ago. Like you pick the best players for a Word Cup, but then there was the issue of having enough players from the different Countries. So will the teams be picked on FC stats and performance? This Ashes idea is sweet, can't wait. Great stuff guys!

This would've been good for me if I started posting about six months ago.. unfortunately, I'm still an unknown, so I've got no chance. I would be very excited if I won the honours of being the Australians 15th man though. ('15th man?' you may ask. It's actually where if one of your batsmen skies it in the air you are allowed to throw molotov cocktails and other large objects at the fielder trying to catch the ball. You are also allowed to run onto the pitch at random times hurling objects at the opposition before being escorted from the ground by police.)

So.. Aus.. how about that 15th man, ay? *slips $50 into Aus' hand*

I'd defo be up for this. In my first international tournament and debut for Australia I raped it at number 5 coming in after Hooper. Hope things go back to that. Would be epic.
