Friends Provident have been involved in sponsorship of cricket for a while now. Mainly at test grounds, and Yes I think they did sponsor Southampton FC.

Sooner the better, imo.

Are there any plans to bring in a law where there have to be x ammount of England legible players in a county XI?

I think that definitely should be the case. Lancashire would have no trouble obliging to that. In fact, here is an all English Lancashire XI;

Chilton
Sutcliffe
Law
Loye
Horton
Cross
Sutton
Chapple
Cork
Smith
Keedy

Yes there is two wicket-keepers in there but I believe that Cross is good enough to warrant a place on batting alone.

No, but from 2008, a county's grant from the ECB is dependent on how many England-qualified players they play throughout the season. To receive the full grant, they'd have to ensure that they had nine England eligible players in every match.

An incentive, well good idea.

Better than just enforcing a 9 England eligible players rule?

Sussex would be ok, because we'd only have one overseas player anyway.

Though Ollie Rayner was born in Germany, I think he's England eligible.

He's doing ok, still very young and only had a handful of games. Mushy rates him very highly, he did make a century against the Sri Lankans when they toured last summer.

Cool just noticed Doug Bollinger has been picked up by Worcestershire playing along side his NSW buddy in Jaques. Can't wait to see how he goes over there.
