I can only hope that Hodge performs better for Lancs than he does for Australia. Which i'm sure he will. He was great at the start of last season.

He averages 58 in test cricket! Alright, so 203* does help that an awful lot but he did well to get a double hundred against South Africa. He's averaging 69 in first class cricket in Aus this winter.

If you didn't know, there is a stark contrast between the quality of Bangladesh's attack to that of South Africa's.

i donno, south africa's attack in australia was average. point of the post; hodge is ordinary and not as good as you think.. failing 6/9 times is poor and without the 200 he looks very average stats wise!

I can't wait for this coming season. It's free for us under 16's at leieter now so I've saved myself a few quid. They charge us for 20/20 though.

I hope we can retain our 20/20 trophy and if Ackerman is in the same form as last year then we have a chance of promotion. I hope we resign Asif for the whole season but i'm not too fussed about Mongia

I believe Ntini was coming back from injury at the time and was lacking match practice, and Pollock in test cricket has averaged around 40 for the last year and a bit. Just doesn't quite have the penetration on flat pitches anymore.

Anyway a 200 in test cricket doesn't mean too much, as Rob Key will testify to

I think I'm vaguely optimistic about Middlesex's chances this season. Their bowling attack should have far more penetration this year with the addition of Murali Karthik, whilst if Joyce, Shah and Compton are fit and available for the majority of the season they should get runs on the board against 2nd division attacks. Hopefully Silverwood will continue his improvement after returning to fitness last year, and a decent promotion push should be on the cards.

You gotta be one of the favourites for promotion really this season. You've got Vaas as well haven't you? So an international pace bowler and spin bowler, as well as players like Shah and Joyce. That team is looking very strong for a divison 2 outfit.

Well we've (Worcestershire) signed Alexei Kervezee so he could be one to watch out for this season, probably the best u18 batsman in the world or close to it anyway. And Bracken is more than likely to sign up too, but we all know what happened last year when he went to sign up for us. But with Australia having no real Tests until after the county season has finished, he should have any excuses this time.

He's in on the Kolpak rule but he can't play for or be called up by South Africa, during his time as Kolpak.
