Lucky Escapes

Last night, I was heating something up in the oven. I pulled a table-cloth off the the kitchen top so I could take the pan out. Unbeknownst to me was the fact that wrapped within was a boning knife (ha, boning...) that fell towards my bare foot. Luckily, it landed between my toe somehow. I'm not sure it would have done much damage but still, pretty lucky.

Any occasions where you feel you've had a lucky escape?

Yesssss. Back in grade 7 my mum was calling me over(I was on the other side of the road) and I walked and then heard a horn and then started running because I heard a horn and I swear it only missed me by inches. I felt the wind of the car and when I looked back the car was about 20 metres infront of me.I felt it was going around 50km/h. I was beside a parked car before I crossed the road so I didn't see the car and neither did the driver. The car was red and apparently red goes faster......

Ever since then I've been super careful with cars, maybe a bit too careful but seriously before I was way to careless.

Yeah, I've nearly been run over. Guy was going 80-100, I was on my bike, crossing the road, didn't see him, was strolling over, then I just heard him slam on the brakes.

Was scary as hell.

Yeah that's the same as I felt. You have no time to see the car.

You have plenty of time to see the car if you look both ways before crossing.

What did your mothers teach you? Tsk tsk tsk.

Ages ago, early last year. No crashes to my name, loads of near misses with mates though having races. Probably shouldn't do it, but aye, when you've had 12 Jack's each it makes a good, fast race.

I always do. I always did before that incident. I did at that incident. I always have since that incident.

This place is like 50 metres from my place, and there is a small hill from the bridge. I looked, but couldn't see down. They either came round the corner very quickly, or they were on the hill, where I couldn't see.

Once you've started crossing it's a bit late.

Going up to footy one morning, taking a windy (as in lots of turns, not blowing around, it's hard to distinguish them) road up there. We were driving along a straight road, which was about to veer left, probably about 100 metres in front of us. A car absolutely zooms around the corner, and skids out, did about five spins before missing our car by inches. Keep in mind that this road was very high up. Oddly enough, I didn't care. That's right. I was listening to Damage Inc. by Metallica, saw it coming around and just thought "Hm, ah yeah, that car's spinning around, pretty normal". It was only until afterwards that it sank in.

The moral of this story is that Metallica is awesome, and James Hetfield saved my life.
