Hopefully EA won't be stupid enough to make the new cricket title a Wii exclusive. I wouldn't put it past them though, they only released Cricket 08 on mobile phones!
The listing on the NZ shopping website did state PC though.

EA Sports will not release a cricket game on Wii only, I'd be willing to bet on it. If they're going to be lazy about it, it will be PC only or PS3/360 only. Am I thinking this will be good? Probably not, but the fact that it might be EA Canada probably means that it will be next gen, meaning that it has to be different from the previous version in some way.

I probably wont get this unless I hear it is better then Cricket 05 with patches. Cricket 05 is the best of the series I reckon, and with Tutsis patch and Tom making rosters its perfect.

HB studios who were involved in the making of Cricket 07 and more recently NHL 09 currently have 6 projects in development, maybe one of them could be Cricket 09? they won't say what they are though

Exciting update from Peter Moore! EA have got some sort of sport equipment stuff that is gunna make sports games better and possibly cause the release of more sports games!

I have been in touch with EA UK but no news from them. Just "We haven’t announced the game yet so at this stage we can’t comment but we will be in touch if this changes." and then "At this stage there is nothing to report but we are looking into the possibility of Cricket making a return."

There's a surprise. A few sentences which mean absolutely nothing

Such a nice response from EA. That sort of thing goes really well with the great cricket series they have produced.

What about Codies? They've given up on cricket games?

If they are working on one hopefully they'll take abit longer working on this one, as judging by 2007 2 years is nowhere near long enough. The single player AI is beyond awful, and ridiculously easy. It's slightly better online, me and Si had some very fun games, but the single player was ridiculously awful. So hopefully they won't provide us with the typical buggy, roster updated BLIC 09 and give us something worth playing. I'm not holding my breath though tbh. It's annoying really as the 360 and PS3 have so much potential for a truely fantastic Cricket game, if they had a decent company working on it then it could be so good with the capabilties offered by the 2 systems, but EA and Codies seem incapable of making a good game.

That is sad to hear. I do think that overall Codies had the more professional approach, though overall their games were just as bad as EAs. Pretty sure EA, if at all, will create another ugly-duckling that PC modders will have to try and make look pretty!

If only BLIC 2005 was as good as the build up it got from Codies. The days of Rubbergenius and his facts of the day were bliss.

Meh, if Codies decided to ignore the feedback given to them by members/admins of this community and the resulting game was crap, that is there financial fault. EA is bad but it is miles better than BLIC.
