Worst tackle in football history?

Spotted this on my AOL homepage this morning. It's from an American indoor league. The goalie obviously received a straight red and the other team battered them 26-10, or something like that. This guy should take up Karate if he hasn't already.

It says it's an American league and the player who got sent off was from the US. Could well have Mexican teams in it as well though.

Schumacher vs Battiston, Thatcher vs Mendes and Keane vs Haaland come straight to mind.

Yeah, still has to be Keane on Haaland for me. Not only for the tackle, but for the fact it was pre-meditated and he played on hurting Haaland that day. He really should have been done for Assault with police involvement for that incident, just pure stupidity.

It was stupid indeed but probably not the worst. It didn't end Haaland's career.

The worst in terms of damage to a player, that I can remember, was probably the very unfortunate David Busst incident.

Schmeichel ended up vomiting on the pitch and he and Irwin needed councelling to overcome the incident.

David Busst one wasn't a bad challenge at all. It was just really unfortunate. He got his leg caught on a defenders and the force snapped it completely.
