| ICC President Member Since: Jun 2004 Domestic Team: Kent CCC | As a sometimes reader and sometimes writer, I don't see the need for any real "rules". Sure the forum is quieter but that is because people are bored of playing the current games, this will surely change when the new games are released. As for story quality/longevity, does it really matter is people don't stick with them, their stories will just fall off the page and people will continue to read the better ones. | ||

I like the 2 months rule because it stops people just updating for a few weeks, winning SOTM then leaving it. I'm not sure about the 2 stories max rule though, but I can understand why you did it. Also I have to say the way you worded it, it sounds like you're telling people what to do (in the what we can do section) instead of giving us tips on what we can do. Perhaps re-phrasing that would be better. On the whole, good ideas.

| 1st XI Cricketer SOTM-Sep2009 Member Since: Nov 2007 Location: New Zealand National Team: New Zealand Black Caps Domestic Team: Northern Knights, Bangalore Royal Challengers | Personally I think there are too many cricsim and ICC stories- just my opinion but I find them less enjoyable to read unless the story writer is very good. Not that I don't like either of the games- there are some good ICC stories out there, like treva v jaztheman and I really enjoyed jaztheman's Bangladesh story. biggy09's cricsim Australian league story is good, but in my opinion there are just too many stories that involve ball by ball updates which I (and I'm sure many others) just can't be bothered reading. I'm not saying every story needs graphics but the presentation of text in stories from treva, shantanu_rooney and Roofrom50 just makes me more interested in the story and makes it easier to read full stop. CG123's Global Premier League has no pictures and he could post ball by ball updates, but instead the summaries of the games and presentation is set out so that it is easy to read. Just from my point of view, when I surf the story forums I firstly look for new stories, then I sub consciously have a list of which stories to check out. No offence to ICC or cricsim story writers, but I tend to gloss over many of those stories and follow the ones that have something different about them. Sorry for the waffle but I just wanted to have my say ![]() | ||

I barely get any comments on my ICC stories so thats why I started a cricket 07 story. I don't really read the Cricsim ones but I just do them for fun anyway but I think all cricsim stuff when you have to buy a team and manage it should be moved to the online games forum. Anyway, just like Just_cricket, I like to read stories that have some good graphics to keep me interested. I do read the ICC stories though.

| Banned AKA: Gaurav Member Since: Aug 2008 Location: Pune National Team: India | I don't agree here. See if a league is conducted as just posting the matches after simulating them then it is ok if we move them too online cricket games forum. But if the league is conducted as a story then it should be cricket stories forum. | ||

I use ICC because it's easier, it gives realistic results every time and it's fun to use. I just write stories when there's a trend going or when I get bored and need something to do. Personally I read any story that catches my eye.

If it has a story line along with the playing ( whatever the game may be ), then it should be in Cricket stories section. L.Fox's cricsim was one of the good examples. If it has no story line, i.e just playing, managing the team & posting the scorecards --> it should be in online forums. ![]()

| National Board President AKA: Mani Member Since: Feb 2008 Location: England National Team: England/India Domestic Team: Yorkshire | A story getting no comments has got nothing to do with what game it's being played on. It's about writing, presentation, originality etc. If it's the same as 10 other stories, people won't read it. Even if you use the same game, you can make unique stories though. | ||

People still need to try and give constructive feedback though and try to make every story improve. We're definitely on the up and the section is reaping the rewards.
