Can't say for sure but I would probably like whatever is determined to be the national sport and if Cricket actually got exposure.

The English pretty much. They brought the game to that area and it just grew.

Not really. It's been played Internationally since 1877, and there are still only 9 currently qualified Test nations. Doesn't indicate to me that it's growing that fast. Mixed Martial Arts is a sport that's going global fast. Modern MMA started emerged in 1993, with the creation of the UFC, and since then it's turned massive. The UFC are making millions, good MMA gyms are sprouting up all over the world, with talented fighters coming from all over the world. You've got American's, Brits, Brazilians, the Japanese, Russians, Koreans and even a couple of Armenian's making names for themselves and the UFC are taking their brand worldwide.

Since 2005, when the first season of The Ultimate Fighter aired and Forrest Griffin and Stephan Bonnar showed what MMA was all about to a massive audience on Spike TV, the sport of MMA has grown incredibly. The fact it's being talked about as possibly over-taking Boxing, a sport that's been competed in the Olympics since 688 BC and had it's modern rules laid down in 1867; is just testament to how quickly it's growing. I'd say that's the definition of going global fast, not cricket. Cricket's on the increase in popularity, but in comparison with the majority of other sports it's grown rather slowly.

Everywhere cricket is played: including Iceland. Icelandic cricket clubs include Kylfan (Icelandic for "the bat"), based in Reykjavík, and Ungmennafelagid Glaumur, based in Stykkishólmur. Major difficulties for the development of the sport in Iceland include the popularity of other sports in the country (especially football), and the lack of cricket fields in which to play. This second problem has led to some novel solutions, including one game which was played between the Iceland national cricket team and an amateur team from Britain that was played on top of Langjökull glacier. (There were many lost balls and they didn't use a white one for obvious reasons!)

I doubt I'd be watching cricket if I was from a country where it wasn't widely played. I've just finished reading a book about a guy who travelled around Eastern Europe playing cricket and in most of his accounts the "locals" were in fact people from India/Pakistan/England/etc. I suppose I might have picked it up if some sort of specific event had taken place in my life (I'd spent time in a country where it is played as a student or maybe had a friend who played and who moved to my country) but other than that it's highly doubtful I'd give a toss.

MMA is a passing fad and tbh I don't see what all the fuss is about. The few fights I've seen the guys just lay on the ground and do jack all, it's so boring it makes watching a whole 12 rounds of boxing look good.
