Not like we have riots, police and journos in brawls, bomb threats to opposition teams, and crowds having to be held behind giant fences because they are so bad.

Anyhoo, I actually wanted to see Australia and NZL host it this time around. It'd have brought back some great memories.

Anyways the newspapers reported this because of Whingey Smiths little Whinge and they printed the racist comments, the rest of Australia knew this got under the Saffers skin and started to follow suit just to stir them up. What the rest of the world knows is completely false, no Australian would know racist calls in Afrikaan (sp?), we only learnt them when the stupid media decided to print them. And to even suggest remotely that racism doesn't happen in Asia is also a complete joke.

(@ Gaurav)Anyways, if I remember correctly, the ICC report on the racial abuse in Australia concluded that the abuses were coordinated and pre-meditated. P.S. If you're going to accuse Asian crowds of racism, please add any official reports which affirm the accusation. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/cric...ia/4830538.stm From the ICC report: "It would be wrong to attribute racial abuse to South African expatriates living in Australia or explain it away as being the result of drunken behaviour." If we're going to make any accusations, critical generalizations, etc. of a particular crowd, let's do it within the realm of actual validated evidence. Otherwise, the thread will quickly descend into a series of baseless name calling. Last edited by pal; 30th April 2006 at 12:48 PM..

Sparrow is the Aussie bloke who follows Australia around everywhere. From your BBC report. "In his report, he concluded: "It was premeditated, co-ordinated and calculated to get after the players. It is a serious matter."" I can tell you from personal experience, it was the expat saffers who started it, and the aussies followed suit to get after the South African players. I'm not saying there isn't the odd drunken yobbo who doesn't yell something racist in Australia, it does happen, but it is never to the extent of the attacks aimed at the South African players. Don't blame us though, we only wanted to get up the Saffers skins. Last edited by YOTC; 30th April 2006 at 12:50 PM..
