1. Pakistan 2. Sri Lanka 3. South Africa 4. West Indies 5. New Zealand 6. England 7. India 8. Bangladesh 9. Australia (10. Zimbabwe) Group A: 1, 8, 9 Group B: 3, 7, Q1 (11) Group C: 2, 5, 10 Group D: 4, 6, Q2 (12) So they're using a similar system to 2009 where they're going down and up and down again, but this time instead of positioning them in order, they are doing each other seed on each movement. Seems a bit arbitrary, to be honest, but it looks like the match-ups are fair. EDIT: According to the ICC website, 5, 6, 7, 8 are in the order: England, India, NZ, Bangladesh which doesn't seem fair since New Zealand got a win in the Super 8's whereas India didn't.

If the qualifier happens to be Ireland or Kenya, then we are pitted in a particularly tight group. One upset and we are seriously looking at a very early elimination (since beating South Africa is very tough in a league game than beating them in a semifinal ).

This contest will surely be something to watch out for. It will be interesting to see that whether India bounces back, or will it suffer the same thing yet again.

I dont think the short pitched stuff should trouble us too much in WI (same as what happened in the recent ODI series). We should be better placed. And hopefully in 2010, the Raina's and Sharma's should be better placed to handle the short pitched deliveries. I wish atleast one of Sachin or Dravid play the World Cup and provide experience and stability to the team.
