| County Captain Member Since: Oct 2004 Location: Wisconsin, USA National Team: Pakistan | Played BLC demo yesterday for a long time, hopefully I may be able to give an unbiased opinion. I did not encounter any disasterous bugs first of all. The controls got a bit getting used to, but with my gamepad, (12 buttons and all) I was able to do a good job with it and can even reassign buttons to my liking. Once I got the controls figured out, it was fairly easy to beat the demo. Since I see in the options that this is the county level in the demo, the other levels will be much harder. Even in this level however, it was good to see the AI punishing you if you waver in line and length. I get the feeling however that it might be an easy game to beat even at the harder levels. LOVED the hawk-eye, the animations at the end of the over showing the trajectory of the balls, landing spots, strokes around the ground after someone reaches a fifty etc. A few people have mentioned fielders running in circles, have not had that one yet. The fielders do prefer to let the ball pass them and then run after it to pick it up, but I am not too picky about that. I did not like the fact that the simple leg-side flick sails over everyone's head like a rocket. Someone else mentioned it too. A bit unrealistic. Graphics, maybe not as good as the EA game, but absolutely spot on as far as faces are concerned. Over-all they have more of an arcade feel, which is certainly not a bad thing. They are not choppy however, very smooth, and some animations are really beautiful to see... watching a good cover drive in slow motion was gorgeous. Some shots however, look ghastly. The pull/hook shot, really bad animation. Looks very awkward, even though the ball lands in the second tier. The demo did crash after the first ball on my work desktop as some people had mentioned earler, but at home on my high end laptop, works like a dream. Over-all, I did enjoy playing the EA demo but felt that was much harder for me, and I got used to the BLC demo much more easily and was able to beat it while I have not been able to beat the EA demo yet. I am still getting both games because I feel they both have something different to offer in their own way. As far as bugs go, probably BLC is a better game. EA has only given us three overs of batting to try so its too early to say how many problems there are in the rest of the game. One last point. BOTH these games are an extremely good starting point for all the talented modders/patchers here in this forum. There is room for improvement in both games, and I feel that once you patchers are done with it, we will finally have two games that we will want to keep playing indefinitely. Good luck guys, and if you feel unappreciated, know that there are people who do feel that you are doing an excellent service for the rest of us and we thank you. Stand on middle stump before the ball is bowled. You will get four most of the times but if not you will definately get 2 and there is no chance of getting caught given the fact that you only have 3 wickets (tailenders) in hand. | ||

| International Cricketer Member Since: Aug 2004 Location: USA National Team: INDIA Domestic Team: Dallas Cowboys (NFL) | Found a commentary bug. I was playing the demo and was beaten by swinging ball (dead slow even S. Tendulkar would have had trouble to deal with such slow ball) by Watson and Gower said "and he is out". I would not believe it as there a literally a three-stump width gap between bat and ball. But I was not out its just that Gower screamed "and he is out". This definately is a commentary bug. | ||

You can always switch commentatory off(you do not have to listen to it-see how buggy EA's is-it can't be perfect. Any bugs apart from these are real bugs. Autoplay is not one of them, nor are graphics or shot animations, so stop complaining 'bout them. | ||

| 2nd XI Cricketer Member Since: May 2005 Location: Barbados, West Indies National Team: India, West Indies | i dont know if anyone pointed this out already but in the demo the bowlers are able to swing the ball too much and too easily. like they are a super waqar younis. they can swing the ball through the air huge and also when it pitches. i come to the conclusion that this game is an arcade. | ||

| School Boy Cricketer Member Since: Jul 2005 | I've found a bug in the demo. Just the one iddy-biddy bug. IT DOESN'T BLOODY WORK !!!!! After going through the configuration screens, and accepting the default starting elevens the game crashes out (after the 3 lots of "Press Enter to Advance") I've tried various configurations of resolution, fullscreen/window etc etc but it always crashes at exactly the same point. No error message is displayed which is really helpful. My PC exceeds the recommended requirements and all drivers are up-to-date. I've sent off my DXDIAG report to Codemasters support so I'm hoping they'll be able to sort it out. Anyway, the England v Australia match has just started on the radio so I'll make do with that ![]() | ||

| 2nd XI Cricketer Member Since: Oct 2003 | Oh man. Im sick of playing those SLOW balls and today, Gough bowled a whole over of that. All six slower balls. Damn, how do you play that kind of delivery when you know that the bowler can bowl arround 96 MPH and then suddenly he bowls 41MPH. Thats too slow for my likings. Anyways, I hope they correct it as soon as possible. | ||
