TAOC Templates Released

TAOC TEMPLATES RELEASED.

ok guys, as per request i've released as much templates as possible except for
the source code (obviously) and anims.detailed explanation of each and every aspect
is given below...so read on. any questions by anyone, please do not hesitate to ask.

NOTE : PLEASE RELEASE THE FILES IN PNG FORMAT !

BATS :-

http://theartofcricket.net/wp-conten...t-template.png

pretty straightforward.you'll get it as soon as you look at the template.

below,i've uploaded the "bats.txt" file which contains all the created bats....

http://theartofcricket.net/wp-conten...09/06/bats.txt

KITS :-

http://theartofcricket.net/wp-conten...t-template.png

have added texts in the below low quality pic to make things clearer...

http://img199.imageshack.us/img199/2...mplatecopy.jpg

NOTE : kits up until JAN 2009 have been created.

here is a ODI kit reference for the size & position of stripes / logos etc...

http://theartofcricket.net/wp-conten...aus_odi_1a.jpg

GRASS :-

http://theartofcricket.net/wp-conten...s-template.png

this one is 512 x 512 but you should be making it in 2048 x 2048.
i didnt post it in that res as its TOO big and just resizing this one
gives a good enough reference ! ;-)

make different patterns and grass textures according to stadium and country !

PITCH :-

now, this i HAD to post in the actual res as you should be able to know the
level of detailing required etc...

make WET,HARD,NORMAL,GREEN etc

http://theartofcricket.net/wp-conten...h-template.png

STADIUM :-

http://theartofcricket.net/wp-conten...checkpoint.max

the area should not exceed the green base and the stand height should not go above 70.

ROSTER / STATS :-

http://theartofcricket.net/wp-conten...ats-editor.rar

i made a editor for making the changes very easy...special thanks to barmyarmy and
prakash for making it happen.

only AUS and IND are genuine...rest all are just duplicate copies of india and aus..
but you can edit it in no time !

no particular instructions...just fire the program and start editing.. !

MENU :-

no templates here....just that minium resolution should be 1280x1024 for 4:3 monitors
and 1440 x 900 for widescreen....if you can afford bigger res..then by all means go for it.

also, the colours should be pleasing to the eyes..

for the look and style, look at www.theartofcricket.net , you'll get the hang of the theme....

OVERLAY :-

same as above....

SFX / Crowd Sounds :-

give me anything and everything you have !! :P

this is a positive step forward.....lets see if this works out well..then can think further...hopefully, this otta please a lot of members !

btw, i've assigned LC with a programming job.....so lets hope for some good progress soon !

cheers

JK

Great idea, this, JK.

Can I make one suggestion with regards the overlays, menus, etc.? Take the 'look and feel' from TAOC website, and try and keep it themed. Otherwise there'll be a complete hotch-potch of styles all over the place.

About the sounds - I sent LM a whole heap of sounds for everything from crowds, to hits, nicks, "aaaaahs" etc. all from real cricket matches in a good quality (i.e. not recorded off Youtube!!). Does he still have these?

can we create a voting sub board for TAOC where 2d or 3d textures would be submitted and be put into voting, and the work that gets 10 yes votes and 0 no votes(there should be difference of 10 between yes and no votes)and no votes should be given followed by a reasonable reason......

before we should create a claim list of 2d textures where user first claims that thing and make it.....he can un-claim it if he is unable to do it.....

hope you like this idea,it is a systematic plan to make the work move on smoothly......

I think I've since deleted those sounds when I switched computers. Hopefully LM has them as I sent them to him somehow (maybe rapidshare or something) but he definitely got them because he commented on them to me.

Just to get the ball rolling. Scaled my old, old C04 bats on top this template, and since I'm not a Photoshop-wiz like many of the others, shouldn't be any excuses not to top 'em.

Cant, WWHD, WWMB, WWSL

PS. Couldn't figure it out, what do you mean when you say "top face" of the bat?

heres a sample of your WWHD !!

the top face means the top portion of the bat...the part which is attached to the handle..

also, a request to everyone...to please post your work in PNG format..

Which is why I'm quite happy to design them, as I still have all the files I used originally to make the site (even if it has been redone since by LM).
