Quarter finals - Italy vs Ukraine

Quarter finals - Italy vs Ukraine at Hamburg, 30th June, 21:00

I would say Italy should win this if they can get some better shots away. Defence is an absolute brick, well for us anyway.

I don't think there's anything that Shevchenko can do about this one - Italy will win and set up a Semi-Final clash against Argentina.

If Italy play like they did yesterday, then Ukraine hae a decent chance. Shev and Rebrov will be vital otherwise Italy will crush them. Ukraine Germany for the semis .

It could easily be Twitzerland v Australia.

No, hondeyho....Germany

Hopefully Ukraine win. It's been hard for them but they deserve it (kind of).

Well after a crushing 4-0 defeat, they then were brilliant when they beat Saudi Arabia 4-0, the same when they beat Tunisia.

Yesterdays performance wasn't very good - they won it on Penalties which isn't the best way to decide who is the better team. Italy should win this.

Go Ukraine! Italy are very technically sound in defence, but their upcoming opponents obviously have some world class attacking options at their disposal who have the ability to, err, exploit it...
They can't allow Italy too much space out wide or centrally with which to dictate the midfield play from, and in turn feed the strikers with ease- they've obviously got a brilliant keeper to back up that composed defence too, so Ukraine will have to be on top'a their game. Aus would've won, no doubt!

Brilliant against Saudi Arabia, but I thought pretty poor against Tunisia. And yesterday both teams made a nice big joke of the game of Football and the World Cup.

Italy, if they find their form, will crush Ukraine. However I think Italy wont be able to do that and will have to battle to a 1-0 or 2-1 win.

I think that Italy will get through easily unless we see a Shevchenko special. From what i've seen of him so far he hasn't looked all that classy.

exactly,in most of the matches only one goal decided the match.
e.g PORTUGAL-NETHERLANDS.

I think Italy will win, but Ukraine has surprised some teams before this World Cup.

Not really. They've played only one world class side and got hammered in that.

Ukraine qualified as the first European country, in a group with Denmark, Greece and Turkey. Although these teams belong to the midcarders of Europe, it's still very difficult to progress from.

And I am talking about before the World Cup. Not the match against Spain.
