Unexpected Talent and Bloopers?

Well,we are onto the knockout stages now and the real contests are only going to start now.But already we have seen some players perform beyond expectations.Which of these players have impressed you the most and you think are likely for a big club move after the tournament?
Also there are quite a few who were expected to do something big this time, but couldnt manage much.Who in your opinion are these.

Well I cant think of many right now,but I'll try adding on.These would be my picks,i.e those whom I didnt expect to do so well.

Unexpected:

Shaka Hislop:Well,I wasnt expecting him to play,I thought that Kelvin Jack would be their goalie in the world cup.But somehow he injured himself and Hislop was given a chance. He did far better than I expected especially against Sweden, nothing was going past him that day.

Tim Cahill:Although we've seen him plenty of times for Everton,I doubted whether he is capable of doing it in the big stage.

Bobby Convey:I havent seen much of this guy,but he looked impressive,I dont know there seems to be some skill there.

Bloopers:

Michael OwenAlthough Im a big fan of his,Id have to say he's had the worst World cup yet.I wouldnt blame him much though as he hardly played 60 odd mins in the first two games and luck wasnt with him(when is it with him anyway?) against Sweden.

Ronaldinho:Although he's done ok,but he's been below his levels. But I have a feeling that once the big matches arrive,he might be the star man.

Absolutely right about Ronaldinho. He has been a bit subdued by his standards, although has played his part in two of Brazil's goals. However, he is saving his best for the main games.

Another player who has impressed me is Cesc Fabregas - We knew he was a good player on the basis of his peformances for Arsenal, but to do it in the big stage is a totally different thing. But for this 17 year old, sky is the limit!

Nothing like what he usually plays.

Fernando Torres - I haven't seem much of him but he truly is a dangerous player which I've never really noticed.

Joe Cole - Again, I've known him for a while but he's played so well IMO.

Miroslav Klose - Who hasn't been impressed by him? Never really noticed him at all!

What were you doing four years back? Klose loves the World Cup.

I have a pretty dim memory of it and it was only a couple of years into when I loved sport! (If you know what I mean) .

Check out my age.

Didn't he score four goals against Saudi Arabia and wanted to get the golden boot on the back of that "achievement"

Yeah he scored four goals against the Saudi's, think most of us could have done that the way the Saudi's played that day.

I would agree about what has been said about Torres.

Bloopers - The whole France squad - enough said played very poor so far.

Easier said than done. Anyways Klose dint score today but created both goals, and was also named Man of the Match.

I would another player: Luis Gonzales, although Id heard a lot about him,but I never rated or thought that he would perform better than some of the other Argentina stars such as Riquelme,Crespo,Tevez or Messi. But he seems to have been the player who has made Argentina one step better than they were.
