Second Round - Switzerland vs Ukraine

Switzerland vs Ukraine @ Cologne, 26 June 2006, 21:00

Should be a good match between the two. Both did well to make it to this stage especially Urkraine after the thrashing they took.

Well i think they can beat the Swiss but the Swiss are highly professional and with Frei in form they are favourites in my opinion.

It seems as though everyone is ignoring this one, they have a right to at the moment. Switzerland have had the better of Ukraine at the moment.

In the middle of the page I am reading this:

"This has probably been one of the poorest first 45 minutes at the World Cup. Both sides have been very defensive and not pushed too many men forward."
Matt Holland, BBC Five Live Sport

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/foot...06/4991532.stm

I am happy that I am not watching this.

I'm amazed, they even made a penalty shoot out seem boring.

At least a small amount of action happened at the end. Ukraine's trip should stop by Italy

Well that's 120 minutes of my life that I'm never going to get back. How are these jokers still in the WC when Holland are out?
Out of the 7 penalties only 1 was any good and that was the last one. The other 6, including the 2 that went in, were all dire.

I just made it to watch the last minutes of the extra time and the penalties. And I heard that Switzerland practised on penalties on their training.
