England in Ireland

Just one ODI here, on the 13th of June, at Stormont.

This will be Ireland's first official ODI, and their squad follows.

Trent Johnston (Captain)
Andre Botha
Jeremy Bray
Peter Gillespie
Dominick Joyce
David Langford-Smith
Kyle McCallan
John Mooney
Paul Mooney
Eoin Morgan (Middlesex)
Kevin O' Brien
Andrew White (Northamptonshire)
Niall O'Brien (Kent)

It should be noticed that Kent might not release O'Brien. I can just about stomach them not releasing him for Intercontinental Cup games, but not releasing him for an ODI is just not on. I understand their problem is that both their first and second choice keepers will be in playing in this game, but if they don't release him, they should face sanctions from the ECB, who said they were comitted to ensuring players from Scotland, Ireland and the Netherlands would be released for ODIs.

Are Kent seriously suggesting that playing against Durham will do more for his career than playing against England?

I've got the Cricketers Who's Who and I remember a 3rd Kent keeper on it.

Not really there is Dixey who keeps wicket for the Second XI. Apart from that I think Dave Fulton could be regarded as a casual keeper and I saw Neil Dexter keep wicket for 10 overs when O'Brien had to leave the field earlier in the season.

As James_w said, it's on BBC2 Northern Ireland.

Only available to Sky customers, NTL has BBC1 Northern Ireland, but not BBC2 NI. Whether we'll get BBC2 NI by Tuesday I doubt it.

I'd ring them up and moan, but am not the account holder.

I already tried. It's "coming soon". Just like interactive on Sky Sports, interactive on News 24, a PVR and HDTV are coming soon. In fact, all but HDTV have been coming soon since 2004.

Well they've just raised the age of pension collectment to 68, 50 years left.

NTL might still not have 'upgraded'.

Lucky Me! I have that channel! I wish there was a BBC2 NI HD, because I have one of those HD boxes, and as Peter Griffin would say, it is freakin' sweet!

Any news on what sort of team England are bringing over, and more importantly, is KP gonna play?

The England squad is the same as for the Sri Lanka ODIs.
