Cricket Coach Press release / packshot

Get Ready To Be Bowled Over…

by the most comprehensive cricket simulation ever!

With the cricket season now in full swing, it’s time to reach for your PC or laptop and play an addictive new cricket simulation that delivers all the thrills and spills of the real-life sport. Brand new to PC CD-ROM, Marcus Trescothick’s Cricket Coach covers all facets of management and creates a totally absorbing game world that’s impossible to resist.

Endorsed by English international cricket legend Marcus Trescothick MBE, Cricket Coach is the most comprehensive cricket management simulation ever produced. It’s also fantastic value for money, joining Focus Multimedia’s best-selling range of Essential PC software for the recommended retail price of just £9.99.

Marcus Trescothick’s Cricket Coach allows players to take charge of any international or domestic team from around the world and guide them to victory. Wheel and deal in the transfer market, building your dream team over several seasons of play. With nail-biting, ball-by-ball match coverage, you won't want to miss any of the thrilling action as it unfolds on the pitch!

Key features include:

* Play as any international team, with a full calendar of all current and future test matches, one day international series and World Cups.
* Take control of any domestic team from the 10 test match playing nations, competing for domestic leagues and cups. Or why not play the hard way and earn the right to manage your country?
* Comprehensive database containing over 2,500 players, each with accurate ability ratings and domestic and international career statistics.
* Graphical overhead view of the match in progress, showing all the nail-biting action as it happens on the pitch.
* Detailed tactical options give you complete control over your team – choose bowling strategies that will show up the weaknesses of the opposing batsmen.
* Worldwide player transfer system allowing you to build up your ideal team over many seasons of play. Will you opt for home-grown talent, or fill your side with foreign stars?
* Variable weather and pitch conditions mean only tactically aware coaches will succeed. Do you attack with your pace bowlers or turn to spin?
* …and much, much more.

England and Somerset batsman Marcus Trescothick says of the game: “I’m loving every minute of playing Cricket Coach. You really feel like you’re in the thick of the action, with some really tough strategic decisions to make. True fans of the sport will appreciate how much work has gone into making this the best cricket management simulation you can buy.”

Marcus Trescothick’s Cricket Coach was developed by Rockingham Software, an independent development studio specialising in the sport.

Craig Johnson, managing director of Focus Multimedia, adds: “We’re delighted to team up with Rockingham Software to bring cricket fans the new game they’ve all been waiting for. Cricket enthusiasts worldwide have been crying out for years for a management simulation that really does the sport justice. Marcus Trescothick’s Cricket Coach is that simulation, knocking everything else for six. For less than a tenner, no one will have a problem stumping up the cash for this Essential PC game. But be warned - this is one of the most addictive sports games you’ll ever play!”

Marcus Trescothick’s Cricket Coach is available from all good stockists of PC software, with a suggested retail price of only £9.99 including VAT. Alternatively the product, along with hundreds of other Focus Multimedia titles, can be purchased online at www.focusmm.co.uk.

I really like the way that the writer uses Marcus Trescothick's MBE to add attraction to the game.

I haven't played Cricket Coach 1.04, which is the Softwrap equivalent of the retail version, much at all yet but this press release has whet my appetite.

Errm, is this the same game as Cricket Coach, yet if we want it, we have to pay again?

If you've already paid for Cricket Coach through SoftWrap, then there is obviously no need to buy this again, unless you're absolutely desparate to have the game on CD.
