editing players - stats recorded?

as in blc are the stats after every test and odi recorded for each player. can we create players or change their names? in 2002?

We can change the names with the otherwise useless player editor of cricket 2002.

Stats tracking of players was not there in the playstation 2 version,don't know about the pc one.
