| School Boy Cricketer Member Since: Mar 2006 | A couple of quick observations I would like somehow for scoring speeds to be incorporatd into the game. For example Andy Flintoff scores at around the same speed as most of my Lancashire side, and at most has hit 2 fours in an over. However you know what he is like, he is capable of massive hittting and this should be implemented somehow in the game. 2. Bowling statistics seem to make little if any difference to the game. Yes there are 4 attribrutes but what effect do they have? Flintoff and Anderson have very high stats, even higher for a county championship side yet they allowed Essexs number 10 and 11 (Middlebrook and Gough) to put on over 200 for the last wicket. Players with bowling skills of 50-60 are just as effective and I have even heard reports (although not had the bottle to test this myself) of batsmen with bowling ratings of 15 etc coming on and taking 7 wickets for 20 runs whilst the star bowler ends up with figures of 1/130. |

| U19 Cricketer Member Since: May 2003 | I would be interested in your opinions on the data actually. I am responsible for the English data, in particular, although I did have a look at the West Indies, Pakistan and India. Obviously, Glenn and Oli did most of the work, I just offered my own interpretation. In my mind, the statistics are all a matter of opinion and interpretation so you won't be able to please everybody! But that does not mean that others will not be able to provide useful contributions - quite the opposite. If there is anything that needs correcting or you feel is unrealistic with regard to the actual statistical data, I would appreciate you mentioning it. With regards to Flintoff's strike rate, that has been adjusted now. My mistake was to have included his Test strike rate and not an average of his strike rates put together. Pietersen and Blackwell will also be looked at. However, I think that some of the problem may lie with the match engine if everyone seems to be scoring at the same rate. I'll mention it to Glenn and Oli though. The game will benefit most if people chip in with their bit, as it were. |

| Chairman of Selectors AKA: Jeremy Member Since: Aug 2005 Location: Uk National Team: England Domestic Team: Middlesex | I would definately suggest that the game could do with incorporating two different strike rates. Afterall Flintoff these days in test cricket takes time to build his innings, but still looks to score remarkably quickly in the Odi arena. This could well explain why the odi arena is currently producing scores and run rates that are far too low. As players who have a high SR in odi cricket are having it reduced to form an average with their first class SR. |
