A Twenty20 tournament?

One is currently in progress in the Battrick sledging boards, and doesn't seem like a bad idea for our next tournament.

Basically, we take the scores of both the teams after the 20 over mark. Highest score wins, regardless of eventual result. Bowling orders MUST be sets of 5, so four bowlers bowl 5 overs apiece.

What do you think?

Pretty good. Scores of about 100-120 are considered good (One guy even recahed 150 ). However, a few have made mistakes and set wrong bowling orders, but overall not many hiccups.

I too have a couple of really good destructive batsmen who could do well (Crouch, Dennis, Bunn...)

Good reason not to have it then

Kidding, it should be fine as long as enough people are interested.

Briggs and I are currently discussing future tournament arrangments. We will consider this as a secondry cup competition (personally, something I would like to have) but it is likely that it will be our main tournament

We have spent quite a while devising a new tournament for you. As I said, this may run alongside the tournament, but will not be our major tournament

A Twenty20 cup would be more difficult to run as it would mean someone would have to be watching the match at all times to take note of the score after 20 overs. For me, that would be near enough impossibie seeing how I work on Sunday's when matches are being played.

It is a good idea, but with the plans me and Spin have, It would not be in place for quite some time, some of you may wish to play friendly games of Twenty20, but a tournament would not happen for a while. If you wish you may choose not to enter our tournament and create your own Twenty20 one which is no problem either.

In my opinion Twenty20 cup can be run alongside any other leageue or cup briggesy or spin introduce. I mean we could play two matches in one day. The first twenty overs will be one match and the whole 50 over match can be other. So two results in two cups.

EDIT: And we could appoint some Voluntries from each country which will see the score after 20 overs of all the teams in his country. And if he misses we could calculate the score with the help of runrate it would not be correct but nearly correct i think.

The problem with that though is that because there will be in a sense 2 matches being played in 1, the Twenty20 game will mean that the mentality of most teams will be set a GFI resulting in either very high scoring games, or very low scoring games in the long run. It could work, but at the moment im happy with what we have coming up.
