| U19 Cricketer Member Since: Aug 2005 Location: United Kingdom National Team: England Domestic Team: Northamptonshire | Cricket Coach - release vs testers version It seems a lot of people are confused when the Cricket Coach testers say that they didn't experience any crash bugs when testing the game over the last few months. I can understand how that seems odd, why would a series of crash bugs appear almost from nowhere on the final day of development. Our current thinking is that it could be something to do with the code that was added late on to keep check on whether a person's 1-day trial period has ended. This is the only difference between the recent tester versions and the version that was released on the website. We'll no more in a day or two, but it does seem like many of these issues could be down to this. Personally I can barely believe the amount of crashes I hear about, I'm quite happy for anyone to visit our offices and play the game here. In fact I'd buy them dinner if they could crash my development version on the match screen. What I'm saying is that I strongly believe we can sort many of these issues over the next few days. Oli |

I have paid to unlock it though so that could be why but I played two matches before paying as Lancs and it never crashed. |

Just to weigh in, it must have been very dispiriting to see all the reported bugs when you finally thought the game was ready for release but I've got a lot of respect for the fact that you guys are doing something about it and getting it sorted.

I'm sure all the developers are just as disapointed by the released version as we are. I'm very glad that the Oli and Glenn are actually interacting with us, and look like they're going to do something about it, unlike EA Sports who release bug-ridden games and then forget aobut them.

| Chairman of Selectors AKA: Jeremy Member Since: Aug 2005 Location: Uk National Team: England Domestic Team: Middlesex | I am another who has voiced their complaints at the game, but I also had no crashes whatsoever, I have posted the various bugs that popped up in mine, mostly minor things, but as mentioned my complaints are based around the fact despite having loads of nice graphical features and stats, it does seem to lack in depth. After playing 3 games and just setting my batsman and bowlers to maximum aggressions, I was unbeaten, scored a lot of runs (but at realistic run rates? ), and was getting a bit bored of just hammering the next over button. Hopefully you've managed to tweak the various aggression settings and the coding behind them leading to the possibility of high run rates but increased chances of getting out, as well as looked at ways of actually giving the user a lot more input or control over matches. Good luck sorting the game out, and as Andrew said, at least you haven't "done an EA." Or for that matter an Icc... which whilst pretty damn good and almost bug free has not had the fixes that were promised in a patch around a year ago ![]() |

| County Captain Member Since: Dec 2003 | I've only had 1 crash to desktop and then that keyboard thing every now and then. also, you say that this trial period code could cause the crashes but what about the other errors like the cant bowl one? is there any chance that a 2nd demo will be released so people can play the game bug free (well as bug free as possible) and hopefully change their opinions on the game? perhaps like a week trial or something because 1 day is hardly enough time to find out whether the game is worth 20 pounds. |

A seperate demo, Oli has already said won't be made. It never crashed on me, nor did it even make the processor squeal, etc.

On Windows XP. All compatibility modes, and full screen/windowed(Although windowed does bring the keyboard bug). Also, very oddly, both times I installed it, the CC file in My Programs was completely empty...
