| Administrator AKA: Zim Member Since: Apr 2001 Location: Birmingham, England National Team: England Domestic Team: Worcestershire | Forum Rules Forum Rules To ensure that your experience here at PlanetCricket.net is as enjoyable as possible we require that certain rules be followed. Please read the rules carefully and thoroughly. Forums 1) Read Before Posting: Odds are that most threads have already been covered before you thought of it. Thus just check back a day or two to see if the topic you're so curious about has already been played out. It saves your time, and our time; it works out great like that! 2) Plagiarism: Plagiarism is the act of taking the previously published work of others and passing it off as your own. This is both dishonest to the community and disrespectful to the original author. Anybody caught plagiarising the work of other members can expect to be dealt with severely. If you wish to redistribute someone else's work you must get their permission first. 3) Trolling: Post that are intentionally derogatory or inflammatory made for the purpose of picking a fight will not be tolerated. 4) Racism/Religion/Terrorism: In addition to point 4) regarding zero-tolerance policy for posts that provoke or incite racial, social, and/or religious discrimination, we would prefer members not to initiate discussion of religion, racism or terrorism. Unfortunately such topics cannot usually be discussed maturely and end up causing offence intentional or otherwise. This is a cricket messageboard; if you wish to discuss these issues we would prefer if you did so elsewhere. 5) No Flaming: Whilst a member of this community your will respect everyone's right to an opinion. You may not, in any form, flame a fellow member. If you have issues with a certain person, please sort it out away from the forums. There is a zero-tolerance policy for posts that provoke or incite racial, social, and/or religious discrimination. 6) No Warez or Illegal Software: This includes, but is not restricted to, linking to pirated software, posting content with the intent to encourage such behaviour, and suggesting means through which such software may be obtained. 7) No Pornographic Material: Any sexually oriented imagery or links to such content will not be tolerated. Posts with sexual reference that are deemed inappropriate will be deleted. 8) Spam: Spamming is characterised by the initiation of threads or posts that contribute nothing to a forum, be it off topic or on topic. Examples include: empty messages, messages with few words that have no relation to the current thread or discussion and those posts that state they are spam, either to annoy or increase a member's post count. 9) Swearing: We understand that the nature of certain topics may be such that you feel the need to use profanity to make your point, but we strongly suggest you avoid swearing on the forums. If you do feel the need to swear, do not avoid the filter we have in place by using *, ! or something similar. 10) Language: To do our job properly, staff must be able to read and understand all posts. To this end all posts must be in English. -No Text speak: Text speak is prohibited on this forum. Examples of text speak includes: 'thx', 'plz', 'u', 'shld', etc. Any post with text speak will be deleted. 11) Relevance: Posts in a particular forum must remain relevant. As far as possible, please try and stick to the initial intent of a topic. Please also make sure that when posting a new topic, it is posted in the appropriate forum. 12) Advertising: Advertising for other message boards and sites in threads will not be permitted unless explicit permission is granted by the administration. Advertising is permitted in Forums for the Web forum & signatures, as long as it falls within the regulations stipulated for signatures. 13) Accounts and Usernames: No Multiple Usernames. Each member creates their own unique username to suit their style, personality and this identifies them in the forum. Members should not create multiple usernames to voice or create a different identity. This can cause confusion, deceit and inconvenience to all members. If you’re caught doing this, the Administrators or Moderators can impose penalties such as temporary and permanent bans on the member’s account(s). Users that have another family member joining the site on the same computer must inform us before hand. Members will not normally be allowed to change their username as this can also cause confusion. 14) No All Caps: Don't post a whole reply/thread in all capital letters. This is shouting on the Internet and isn't considered very polite. 15) Use your manual: This forum does not support piracy and anyone suspected of having an illegal copy will not receive any help. Please do not therefore post requests for any information that can easily be found in your manual as you will be automatically suspected of having an illegal version. General 1) Avatars & Signatures: Please note that we do not allow avatars and signatures that lead to or present sexual, racist content. Avatars can be at most 30K in size and 100x100 in dimensions. Signatures are now being split into two categories. a) Images and Text: images may at most be 60K and take up a total screen area of 300x100. An additional single line of text below the image is also allowed b) Text Only: may at most take up a total screen area of unlimited size in width, and 100 in height. Please observe these rules strictly. If you note any avatars or signatures that exceed these limits please contact an admin who will take care of the situation. DO NOT take the law into your own hands and confront the member in question. 2) Reputation: The Reputation or Rep system is in place purely as a light-hearted bit of fun to encourage members to produce quality posts. It is not to be taken over-seriously and reputation level is not always a good indicator of an individual's contribution to the forum. Any reputation queries should be dealt with through a PM to an admin and not through starting a new thread although please only do this sparingly unless there is a offensive or racist comment, in which case PM an admin immediately. Please do not constantly ask for rep in your posts as you are likely to receive negative rep for asking. Finally, please do not abuse the rep system as admin have access to the reputation logs and will disable the system for anyone who is unable to use it sensibly. 3) Administrators/Moderators: All members are obliged to obey the instructions of administrators and moderators. When posting in a particular forum, members are obliged to obey the instructions of forum specific moderators. If you feel that any such decision is unjust we ask you to firstly follow any instructions, and secondly if you believe that the decision is not just, depending on the severity of the scenario, report it to an Administrator. 4) Reporting posts: Please use the Report Post button to alert us to breaches of these rules. Do not post in the thread if you think someone is trolling (trying to start arguments) or spamming etc - use the report post button instead. Some guidelines on when and when not to report a post can be found here. 5) Deleted posts and threads: - Members are able to see any of their posts which have been deleted and the reasons why. Please take this is a positive way as it is designed to ensure that less posts need deleting. If you have any questions please PM the moderator concerned or an administrator. PlanetCricket.net reserves the right to change or alter these rules at any time with the Administrators' decision being final. The PlanetCricket.net Team Disclaimer The views written on this board are not those views expressed by the PlanetCricket.Net management. Please be aware that any slanderous or defamatory posts written by individuals may see them held legally liable. This forum encourages free speech, within the confines of the law. | ||
